If you’re craving something cozy with a little edge, this dish is for you!
What you need:
Shrimp (patted dry)
Salt and pepper
Paprika
Olive oil
Butter (optional)
Half onion (diced)
3-4 cloves of garlic (minced)
1 tbsp tomato paste
1-2 tbsp Chili crisp oil
Heavy cream
Jasmine rice
How to make:
Pat the shrimp dry, then season generously with salt, pepper, and paprika. This step builds the base flavor and helps the shrimp sear properly. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat until hot and shimmering.
Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for about 2 minutes per side, just until they turn pink. Once cooked, remove them from the pan and set aside so they don’t overcook.
In the same pan, add some butter (optional). Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautee until soft, fragrant, and lightly golden.
Stir in the tomato paste, paprika, and chili oil, letting everything cook for about a minute. This allows the spices to deepen, creating a rich, flavorful base for the sauce.
Pour in the heavy cream and stir until the sauce becomes smooth and fully combined. Let it gently simmer, allowing it to thicken and become velvety.
Return the shrimp to the pan and toss to coat them completely in the sauce. Simmer for another 2–3 minutes so everything comes together, then serve hot over rice. Enjoy!
